Is Marketing on Twitter Effective?
I say yes!
Now let me clarify a little further.
In the past 4 days, I have made 2 sales of a $27 ebook, 1 $10 OTO for a free product I offer, and have added 10+ subscribers to my list. All of this from Twitter. Now this may not sound like much until you realize this account was created only 3 weeks ago. It now has nearly 1400 followers although this could have been much larger if I had put more time into it.
Once I have had more time to build a better relationship with my followers and become more of an authority figure to these followers then these numbers will only increase.
But, it has to be done the right way!
So how did I do it?
For the last 3 weeks I have been using a system recently discovered and documented by a friend of mine, Doug Champigny.
Doug’s Advanced Twitter Marketing System is designed to create a huge, niche targeted following in only a short time using nothing but free tools.
In Advanced Twitter Marketing Doug walks you through the entire process from start to finish in a very simple, very clear process.
He starts you out with creating a niche specific account using certain naming conventions that make it very clear that you will be providing your followers with information regarding your chosen niche.
I followed this system to the ‘T’ with one exception.
Where Doug used SocialToo to autofollow back those that have followed you, I used TweetLater. Now in all fairness I haven’t checked out SocialToo to see if there were additional benefits to using this service over Tweetlater. I was already using TweetLater for the one existing account I had at the time and decided to stick with it.
TweetLater does offer the added benefits of being able to manage all of your Twitter accounts from one TweetLater account (Huge advantage as far as I’m concerned). TweetLater also will autofollow, auto-unfollow (Doug explains why not to do this), and auto DM your new followers. You can also (as the name suggests) use it to create tweets to be tweeted at a later date.
Scheduled tweets are a huge advantage and if you upgrade you can have your tweets automatically recur at scheduled intervals. I upgraded and have been using the scheduled recurring tweets. This one particular feature of the upgrade is what I feel has allowed me to really take off in my marketing efforts on Twitter. This one feature of the upgraded account is worth the entire upgrade cost although there are a ton of additional features that you get as well. In less than 1 week I have already recouped the cost of this upgrade 2 times over.
Not a bad deal if you ask me!
All of this was made possible by Doug Champigny’s Advanced Twitter Marketing System.
Before I call it a night there is one more new product that has just been released that is a perfect companion to ‘Advanced Twitter Marketing‘.
This is Mike Paetzold’s Twitter Time Saver.
Twitter Time Saver will show you a little known feature of FriendFeed that will allow you to automatically post certain things to Twitter that will make you rise head and shoulders above the other marketer’s in your niche that are using Twitter as a marketing tool.
Mike will show you how to become an authority figure to your followers using nothing but free tools and just a few minutes a day. Once you become the authority figure in your niche on Twitter, then your followers will pay more attention to your tweets, will be more likely to retweet your tweets to their followers, and will be more likely to take you up on your other offers when you make them available.
In Twitter Time Saver, Mike uses a lot of screen shots to walk you through the entire process of setting up his very simple system. Once it is setup (which only takes between 15-30 minutes) you spend a few minutes 2 or three times a day (or less if you are short on time) and you will become the authority figure to your followers.
To your success in 2009 and beyond!

Brett,
It is great to see some other “income” results from the Advanced Twitter Marketing System. I know I had some. No doubt there is a lot of interest, so many wasted their time only to find out that with getting a few resources that you can really make some money quick on twitter.
I’m going to give tweetlater a try!

The system you refer to really is powerful, and I’ve seen testimonials to it all over the blogosphere. The nice part is Doug’s system works just as well for affiliate marketers, making it a valuable promotional tool for site owners, bloggers and affiliates alike! Glad to see it’s worked well for you, too, Brett!

Glad to hear about tweet later. I know I signed up for it but here are now so many twitter tools and books for that matter. I’ve gotten both of the ones you suggest and found them to be incredibly helpful. The first for showing me a strategy that can really work, and the second for saving time. Now if I can add in your tweet later idea with Mikes system that would really be great.

Oh man, thanks for posting this. It’s exactly what I have been wondering about – how to effectively increase my following and hence achieve a higher CTR for your tweet links. Let’s face, one needs a pretty big number of followers to get any noticeable effects. Because that’s the downside of twitter – all that clutter that makes it hard to get noticed. So automatic tweet repetition is a good idea. Is there a tool that does this by always deleting the previous tweet? That way the profile doesn’t look to spammy.

I think twitter like any other tool we have in our arsenal – it will be only as effective as we make it to be!
Once you build a following that actually interested in what you have to say – it becomes extremely effective!

Thanks,Brett, for a great post. I have also been having great success with Twitter after only a short time using the site. I would like to encourage newbies to internet marketing to not give up! It is possible to make money online, and while $20 to $30 a day may not seem like much, It all adds up. Success builds success and before you know it, you are making quite a tidy sum each month. The only way you can fail is if you quit trying.
